This was my first time visiting a beach at Lake Tahoe, and I was excited to compare it to the Great Lakes I grew up swimming in back in Michigan. I met some coworkers there on a Saturday morning, starting at 9am. I arrived at 9:22 and all the parking spots were taken, which was frustrating. I ended up parking up the road and walking through the wooded area to reach the beach, which was extremely crowded. This was a different experience for me, as I'm used to more space at the beach back in the Midwest.
The sand was rough compared to Lake Michigan, giving my feet a natural exfoliation. There's a bar/restaurant with a signature drink called the Pain Killer, which was tasty but pricey. Parking and space for beach blankets are limited, so arriving early is essential for a good spot.
The views and water at Lake Tahoe were beautiful, and the water was cool but not as cold as Lake Superior. Overall, the crowded and chaotic atmosphere was not my ideal beach day, so I probably won't be returning.
