South Beach Park

We travel full-time and arrived in the evening to let our dog and kiddo run around. We made dinner and took a walk on the beach. Check out the photos attached—it's beautiful here. This is such a fantastic local park. It was windy, and we experienced a good mix of both sunshine and rain. The beach itself was clean, and our dog had a blast playing with other dogs as they came and went throughout the evening. We spent the night here and noticed one truck with a camper shell that stayed overnight as well. In the morning, there was a Sprinter van on the other end that seemed to have arrived sometime during the evening. It's low-key and very local. ♥️ Love this place!

This park is one of the most beautiful I've ever been to! It's peaceful and captivating, with well-maintained hiking trails. The sandy beach stretches at least 2 miles long and is perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking when the wind is calm. The water is incredibly clear and the surrounding forest is stunning. There are two parking areas with pit toilets available. Just make sure to have a Michigan recreation pass, which can be bought at any state campground for $39.
