The beach is really nice and clean. However, it can be quite challenging to access from the car park for those with mobility issues.
This is the place you'll want to return to again and again. I visit alone, with friends, and even bring visitors here, and it’s always a delightful experience. The car park is spacious, and I've never had any trouble finding a spot. There are public toilets and a coffee kiosk available. The initial section of the cliff walk is paved, making it accessible for those with wheels of any kind. My only "negative" point is that the beaches are filled with beautiful rocks, shells, and small pieces of sea glass that will have you gazing down at your feet for hours! 😅
When the red flags are DOWN at the nearby MoD firing range, a walk around Buddon Ness from Monifieth to Carnoustie, passing by the two lighthouses, offers stunning views up the River Tay towards the road bridge. These views are particularly spectacular in the mid to late afternoons as the sun starts to set in the West. Just be sure to check that those red flags are not flying.
