A charming little beach with plenty of intriguing features (mainly caves) to explore. At low tide, you can walk around the base of the cliffs and even try your hand at fishing for pollack. Just be cautious not to get cut off by the incoming tide. On the left side, looking out to sea, there's a cave accessible only at low tide that leads to the next bay. Parking is straightforward, and the path down to the beach is easy to find. The only drawback for me is that, due to its small size, the beach can feel "crowded" with just a few visitors. Some people act as if it's their private beach, showing little regard for others by playing loud music, having uncontrolled fires, and leaving behind trash. It's always a few inconsiderate individuals who spoil it for everyone else. However, don't let that deter you. If you visit during the week and before the summer holidays, you'll likely have the place to yourself. It's a very peaceful and beautiful spot.

What a beautiful day it was today, and the place was almost empty! The car park can accommodate around a dozen cars, and there's no fee required. You can head straight down to the beach, but if you take the upward path on the left, you'll pass by Hells Lum, a collapsed sea cave. Continuing along this path over the boulder remains of Fort Fiddes, you'll eventually reach a stony beach. If you cross the 'river' to the other side, you can enter Hells Lum, but only attempt this if the weather has been dry for a week, as the cliffside path can become muddy, slippery, and dangerous. If you drive further down the road and turn into the Mill, you can park at Cullykhan Bay, where there are picnic tables. However, note that this beach is pebbly, not sandy.

Charming small beach featuring numerous rock pools and caves (tide dependent). It's very safe for young children, but the steep descent from the car park makes it unsuitable for disabled access.

A peaceful and serene location featuring a sandy beach and a picturesque view of the bay towards Pennan. The shallow, clear waters and scattered rocks offer opportunities for exploration. Nearby, Fort Fiddes provides an additional point of interest, especially for its stunning views.

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was a fantastic experience. The views are stunning, and we didn't encounter any midges, which made for happy campers 😁. There are caves to explore and a small sandy beach perfect for picnics and fires. The water is lovely and clear. Highly recommended. It's also great for dogs. The sunsets are lovely, and the clear, starry skies at night are gorgeous.
