My dogs favourite beach. Public toilets, free parking and as long as you look to your left you can hide the power station from view. Would be nice though if people could take their litter away with them and not try and ram it in the dog poo bin. Or those that come with boats to go fishing not use the picnic tables for gutting and scaling fish - you're visiting- we live here and use it all year round.
The lime kiln lies just a few dozen yards to the right of the free car park. Access to the lime kiln is free, too. There's a lovely stretch of sandy beach in a bay shape. Over to the left of the beach is a ruined cottage that looks to be getting some restorative work. This is a great place for a sea kayak and minor fishing. Wild camping is allowed for those doing so appropriately. No bonfire naked fires as the grasses do get very dry, and the wind can be strong. There are free public toilets to use.
A little known feature is the Fairy Pool hidden behind the 🌳 trees and shrubs. Beware the paths isn't the best kept walkway and almost hidden too.
Great place to visit. Unfortunately ruined by wild campers. East lothian Council totally letting this site down. Wild campers leaving litter, fires etc. Council doing nothing to stop bad behaviour eg pulling up wooden posts and burning them
