The Otter Trail concludes at Nature's Valley, a picturesque seaside village situated at the mouth of the Groot River. This hiking area is brimming with attractions! The Tsitsikama trail guides hikers through ancient indigenous forests, showcasing magnificent yellow-wood trees adorned with lichen draping from their branches. Bird enthusiasts will be enthralled by the forest birds, particularly the calls of the Knysna Turaco resonating through the valley from the canopy.
The river's mouth expands into a stunning lagoon. When the water is calm and mirror-like, the reflection of the surrounding mountains, which rise majestically from the sea, is truly breathtaking!
Additionally, there is a beautiful long beach where dogs are permitted in designated zones.
The village has preserved much of its indigenous flora, and Bushbuck can often be spotted foraging along the verges.
