East Coast Site G

Attempted to rent a bike on a Sunday, but found it quite challenging as a foreigner. You need to pay through a specific app (which requires an account) and contact someone via WhatsApp. I eventually gave up and decided to walk instead, and guess what? It turned out to be fantastic!

Ideal spot for an overnight camping trip with a beach view and a lovely garden. However, the proximity to Changi Airport means there's significant noise from planes, so earplugs are recommended. You can either bring your own tent or opt for glamping through one of the available companies. Pack your drinks, food, speaker, and games for a fantastic experience. Additionally, there are excellent restaurants nearby offering amazing food.

This is by far the best place to camp compared to other locations. It offers free parking, fewer or no mosquitoes, a pleasant breeze, and a quiet section of ECP. The toilets are generally cleaner too. Kids can easily access the beach and enjoy flying kites. The only downside is that it's not very close to any eateries or food stalls, but you can still bring your own food to cook or heat up discreetly.

As mentioned earlier, this area of East Coast Park (ECP) is relatively quiet. It's not crowded on weekdays, though it does get a bit busier on weekends and public holidays, but still not as packed as Pasir Ris beach or other parts of ECP. You can enjoy the sea and, on less cloudy days, catch views of Batam and Bintan. You might even spot a hotel in Batam. The sight of ships lined up, waiting to be berthed, is particularly enjoyable when their lights come on after sunset. Watching aircraft take off and land is another pleasure here. This is one of my favorite spots, which I visit regularly for both exercise and relaxation.

Overall, not bad. The surroundings are quite clean. Due to the holidays, the place was packed with people, but that's okay as it prevents it from getting too quiet. The toilet is within walking distance, but there's only one shower room, so you might have to wait if there's a queue. The toilets are acceptable, though they do have a strong aroma. It's not close to a food center, so you need to bring your own supplies. It would be great if there were a vending machine selling simple snacks, drinks, or sandwiches at an affordable price. Our tent faced some short bushes, so the kids had to walk a bit to reach the beach and play in the sand. I wouldn't mind another glamping/camping experience, but I might look for a different site next time to see the difference. 👍
