4 Frustrante

This beach is dog-friendly, but be cautious. Like many places in Western Australia, the nearby National Park is heavily baited with the harmful and inhumane 1080 poison, posing a risk to your dog if they pick up a relocated bait. Additionally, there is a sign at Cheynes Beach warning about the dangers of poisonous sea hares to your dog. The beach is particularly weedy, and we spotted tiger snakes among the weeds during our visit over several days. If you decide to visit, please be aware of these dangers to your dog and watch your own step due to the presence of snakes. I didn't find it a relaxing place to walk my dogs with so many hazards to look out for (baits, sea hares, and snakes). Moreover, the windy conditions in October made the visit unpleasant, so perhaps I didn't choose the best time to go. Despite my concerns about my dogs' safety and the relentless wind, I can see that this beach could be a great spot to view whales during their migration.

Wow!! I absolutely love this place. We witnessed a pod of whales and two mothers feeding their calves quite close to the shore. Further up the beach, a male was breaching the surface and creating huge splashes. We even managed to capture a few videos. The beach is so pristine that it squeaks under your feet. The water is amazing and incredibly clear. I will be heading back as soon as I get the chance. This time of year is perfect for spotting whales along Cheynes. I highly recommend anyone with a drone to bring it along, as you would get fantastic footage. This place is wonderful, and at night, with a clear sky, the stars are so much brighter due to the minimal light interference. You need a 4WD to truly experience the magic of this place.

It's a bit of a drive from Albany, but the view makes it worth the trip. Located in a vast bay, part of which is a popular spot for surfers. The facilities are good, and there's a nice rest area. Be cautious when swimming, as the waters can seem a bit tricky. However, it's a fantastic spot for whale watching and spotting a few native birds. It's beautiful and quiet—definitely worth a visit.

Stunning beach. However, be cautious of the numerous flies, even during spring. The sand is quite squeaky. There's minimal swell. You can drive your vehicle onto the beach.

Stunning blue waters, with plenty of people enjoying a swim. It would be an ideal location for a family picnic by the waves. If you're lucky, you might even spot some whales! 🐳🐳🐋
