Larrouleta Beach

We arrived at Larrouleta campsite arrived a testing journey through poor weather. When we arrived the weather changed, thankfully. The receptionists where very helpful. The toilets were clean, but unisex. The restaurant was lovely and provided a selection of beers and a good menu. The site itself was great. I can highly recommend this campsite, we will definitely return. Additionally, the local town is beautiful.

We arrived at Larrouleta mid afternoon on our day of arrival, the satbav took us straight to the main entrance where we were greeted by a Representative of the site managing a very busy arrival period during what I believe to be peek period. We were let through the barrier and pulled up just inside and booked in. I went into reception, checked in, and was allocated our pitch. By a very helpful lady who gave us a site brief pointing out all the areas of interest and advised us of site facilities and included activities. I was then escorted to the pitch by a gentleman in a pushbike, which was a nice touch. He showed us our pitch and checked. We were happy with it and then left us to set up. The pitches are rather small compared to CAMC UK pitches however still suitable for our outfit, parking isn't ideal but our Discovery Sport just fitted with our caravan, the wife just found it abit awkward to park. The site is somewhat busy with various nationalities of fellow campers. However, everyone is friendly, welcoming, and generally keeps themselves to themselves. The site has its own water park, which is included in the price along with a swimming pool and small grassed area for football. Generally, it is a lovely site, generally clean, and a someone wide selection of areas to dispose of waste, including recycling, chemical waste, and motor home disposal points. If I'm passing through this area again, I would rebook this site.

I stayed here for a 2 night stopover on my way north from Spain in late February 2024. Lots of rain, and I wanted a site which has hard standings (or gravel in this case) instead of mud-bath grass pitches. I also wanted laundry facilities. This site ticked all those boxes. It’s also near the main road to/from Spain and was reasonably priced for me. However, as far as location goes, it has so much more to offer and would be a great site for a much longer stay - weather permitting, of course. The site staff were all very friendly, efficient and helpful. They all spoke good English, too. Top marks and many thanks to them all. For those that worry about such things, the toilet and shower facilities are unisex. Doesn’t bother me. When you’re in a cubicle, you’re in a cubicle. All facilities were well maintained. Would I use this site again? Providing that the price remains reasonable, then a resounding “Yes” is the answer.

I stayed at camping Larrouleta for 3 nights July 24 in my motorhome. Reception is friendly and helpful and provide an escort to your pitch. I booked a grand comfort which is very large, hard standing, electric, water and grey waste provided on the pitch itself. For those travelling from the UK ensure you have an euro adapter for the power supply ' see photos '. The power supply is adequate but seemed to trip constantly. Could well have been a faulty trip.'Pitch 69' If you require WiFi it's only 1 euro per day but doesn't work at all. The site has the usual toilets, showers, laundry and washing up areas which are clean. There's also plenty to keep the kids happy, indoor/ outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, large lake with wipe out style inflatables, paddle boats, fishing, and football field all free of charge. Location is good and only a short 15 minute cycle to Saint Jean de Luz which is busy and very beautiful with a large beach. There's also a number other beaches around the same distance. Highly recommended

Larouletta is a brilliant site, the facilities are top notch and are kept immaculately clean. The staff are professional, friendly and very helpful. It is close to the motorway so is great for an overnight stop on the way south or north. However, I would recommend that you stay for longer. The hard standing pitches are large and all are close to water points. We have used this site for a number of years and look forward to visiting again.
