Aside from the pleasant view, our stay was quite disappointing. The rooms lacked wifi, power outlets, and hot water. The restaurant, which is essentially the only dining option in the area, offered limited choices, small portions, and subpar food. Additionally, the staff was very unprofessional.

Incredible Destination This place has everything you could want in the Osa Peninsula. Nestled in the jungle and right by the Pacific Ocean, the lodge and its staff create a true paradise. From the delicious cocktails and included breakfast to the amazing food, the highlight for me was waking up surrounded by wildlife (macaws, sloths, white-faced monkeys, toucans, and more) without even leaving our lodge or the main deck. Jenny's night walk in the jungle is a must-do for an extraordinary experience and to truly immerse yourself in the jungle. Additionally, if you're interested in snorkeling at Isla del Caño, the lodge is just a 40-minute boat ride away. Thank you for all your attention and kindness. We hope to return again. Loïc

We are a family of three and this was our second stay at Punta Marengo, and we will definitely return. Although the place has changed a bit since the pandemic, the location remains perfect for nature lovers and those who enjoy amazing beaches. We missed Oskar, the guide, but Jessica went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. The chef is fantastic and prepared some wonderful dishes for us. Highly recommended place!

I read some reviews on TripAdvisor that were on the negative side, and although they were dated 2016 and earlier, I must confirm they are still valid in 2020 regarding the level of organization. The management and staff are pleasant people, and the location is extremely beautiful, especially if you have a bungalow from 1 to 7 facing the ocean and enjoying the sunset. However, beware of the noise from the jungle and ocean waves—you may need earplugs. Also, the menu is limited, with only three choices for breakfast, and lunch and dinner are the same for everyone. Despite this, my friend and I liked the food. Within walking distance, you have access to several nice beaches and a natural reserve if you want to venture there, but that's about it. The tours organized by the Lodge are poorly managed, so if you expect to see Corcovado Park, you might experience some surprises. In our case, our tour was delayed by one day, and on the day of the tour, we were a group of eight. Two of the group members had to leave earlier, which we only learned once at the park, causing the rest of us to miss a good quarter of the tour. Since spotting wildlife is very unpredictable, we may have missed nothing or a lot—we will never know. The communication before the tour did not specify this, and we were told it was due to a miscommunication between the tour operator and the guide, but we received no apologies or compensation. In short, given that the main purpose of going all the way to Corcovado is to see the park, spending the days at this Lodge is almost pointless (apart from the beaches and sunset). If you really want to stay there, it's better to check with other tour operators in Drake Bay to see if they do pick-ups from the Lodge. I don't recommend the tours proposed by the Lodge.

This place was rustic and incredible. We stayed in a grass-roofed hut with a lovely balcony overlooking the mountains and offering a fantastic view of the ocean. It was amazing to watch the wildlife pass by our hut each morning and evening as they moved through the jungle and along the coastline. The experience is far from a typical resort, but if you truly want to see the best wildlife in Costa Rica, this is the way to do it. The food was excellent, and the internet was available for a few hours each day when they turned the power on in the common area.
