Located within the Yala national park. Normally is the end/turning point of safari jeep tours. Visitors use to have meals/snacks while enjoying the beach, surrounding. There used to be a rest area built by the Wildlife Reservation dept with toilets, etc. which currently is closed/not accessible to public. Visitors are advised not to go beyond the marked boundaries due to potential attacks by leopards, bears, etc. But some seem less concerned/brave to disregard. Views must be nice at the sunset and sunrise.
A location hit hard by the 2004 tsunami. Three tsunami waves (third as high as 20 feet) damaged a Wildlife Reservation Department's circuit bungalow and took lives of about two dozens including foreign tourists. A tsunami monument in memory of the lives lost has been built but isn't accessible to public currently.
