Lac Huron plages

Having frequented this beach for over 50 years, I might be a bit biased, but I must say it is a wonderful, charming spot that never gets too crowded. I really appreciate the ongoing improvements and developments at the beach park.

This place is really nice with amazing views and a fascinating history connected to the indigenous people of the region. The combination of shale and kettle rocks is quite intriguing to observe. It's definitely worth a visit to capture a few pictures, but it's important to be cautious and discourage children from running around and breaking shale, as it is not well-received.

A fascinating place to explore and discover fossils embedded in the rocks. The final 2 miles are quite tough and require a slow pace. A high-clearance vehicle is essential, though 4WD wasn't necessary for the journey. Expect to encounter numerous puddles along the way!

This place was pretty much exactly what I expected based on their website and my phone conversation with the owner. I didn't really enjoy my stay, but that was due to factors beyond their control - the beds were too small for me (which I knew when I made my reservation), and it was incredibly hot (and I already knew there is no air conditioning). My wife and kids didn't seem to have a problem with either of those issues. We stayed in the #6 cottage. It has a full kitchen with pots, pans, utensils, and a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. The only thing they should really try to improve is the wifi - it was useless. My favorite feature was the beach access. Our cottage had a great view of the water, and it only took one minute to go from inside the cottage to swimming in Lake Huron. I also really liked the common area and enjoyed having a beer by the fire pit with some vacationers at night. If you reserve, it is cheapest to do so by phone, as there are built-in fees when booking online.

Nous avons campé au parc provincial Awenda pendant trois jours et avons visité la plage pour animaux de compagnie tous les jours pendant notre séjour 😁. Cette plage est certainement la meilleure parmi les plages pour animaux de compagnie. Il a un mélange de zones sablonneuses et rocheuses, et l’eau est peu profonde, ce qui le rend parfait pour les animaux domestiques et les enfants. La plage pour animaux de compagnie est suffisamment longue pour que nous puissions garder une bonne distance avec les autres visiteurs. J’ai adoré le lac relativement propre et le chemin bien entretenu. Nous reviendrons certainement !
