The Kudafushi resort is a stunning small island that can be reached by a 40-minute seaplane ride. Upon arrival, you are greeted and escorted to your room, and provided with a WhatsApp contact in case you need anything during your stay. The resort features three restaurants, including a buffet with different themed dinners each evening. The Maldivian theme was a favorite, with excellent seafood curries and prawns. However, the meat at the grilling station could use some improvement, despite the great steak served in the Mediterranean restaurant.
The other two restaurants require advance booking, with menus sent in advance for meal selection. All restaurants offer beautiful sea views, with the Mediterranean restaurant being a personal favorite. The lack of alcohol in the room was disappointing, as it meant having to go to the bar and carry drinks back, especially in bad weather. The serving staff were polite but lacked a bit of personality. At the buffet, guests are not allowed to serve themselves, but staff are always available to assist.
The complimentary snorkeling trip was enjoyable, although the staff seemed a bit impatient. The WhatsApp staff were responsive but could improve in terms of anticipating needs, such as providing information on restaurant availability without being asked. The kids club could also use some improvement, as it seemed children could not be left unattended.
The overwater villa with a pool was breathtaking, with a spacious room and comfortable bed. On the last day, we were given a beach villa to use, which was also lovely with an outdoor jacuzzi bath and shower leading out onto the beach, although not as private as the overwater villa. Overall, I would recommend this resort and would definitely consider returning in the future.
