Lawrence plages

The boardwalk, including the nature preserve, has been increasingly crowded. It's becoming more difficult to ride a bike on weekends without having to stop multiple times due to people not paying attention, even in the designated bike lanes. I've been living in Rockaway for a long time, about two years before Rockaway Playland closed, and it's now as crowded as it was back then. The construction work on the cement seawall has really picked up in the past few months. Today's photo.

La plage était trop venteuse pour une journée complète, mais mes enfants ont réussi à passer un bon moment avec 45 minutes de soleil, de sable et un peu d'éclaboussures dans la mer.

La plage est paisible et pas trop bondée, mais malheureusement, la présence de mouches est assez désagréable et dérangeante. Je n'ai aucune intention de revenir.

C'est un endroit génial pour admirer le lever du soleil et dire bonjour à des chiens amicaux. Je suis arrivé vers 5 heures du matin et j'ai eu toute la plage pour moi, ce qui était incroyable. Après avoir pris de belles photos, j'ai fait une petite sieste et me suis réveillé avec la foule habituelle. J'ai passé un excellent moment à nager dans les vagues fortes. Je reviendrai certainement pour plus de levers de soleil et je vous recommande de le faire aussi. Au fait, j'ai pris de superbes photos avec mon Samsung.

Cette plage particulière se vante d'un environnement immaculé et époustouflant, agrémenté de mesures de sécurité vigilantes et d'une atmosphère accueillante pour la communauté LGBTQ. Bien qu'il puisse y avoir une légère perturbation de l'ambiance paisible due à de la musique, cela reste loin de la pollution sonore couramment constatée sur d'autres plages. Toutefois, il est conseillé d'éviter d'amener des enfants dans cette zone spécifique de la plage.

This stunning beach is one of many on the island, and we opted for this one primarily due to the parking cost, which was $15 for Nassau County residents and $37 for other visitors. It's more affordable compared to other nearby beaches that charge up to $50 for parking. Near the entrance, there was a small hut with bathrooms and showers in decent condition, along with a kiosk selling hot dogs, fries, nachos, and beverages. This was the only place to purchase food or drinks, as there were no other vendors on the beach, not even someone selling chilled sodas from a cooler. The same goes for other amenities—you need to bring everything you might need for the day, including a sun umbrella (since there is no shade and no rentals), seats, or refreshments, and also take everything out with you. The beach itself featured two watchtowers with lifeguards on duty, allowing swimming in a relatively wide section of the beach. However, there were signs warning of rip currents, and most people stayed close to the shore. The water was clean but not very clear, with some seaweed floating around. The sand was incredible—white-ish, smooth, and powdery—so be prepared to bring some of it home stuck to your feet. I found a few shells, but not many. Even though it was a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon with many people around, the beach didn't feel crowded, and everyone generally behaved well, with no excessive noise or loud music. This beach is also a great spot for birdwatching, especially near the dunes where there are fenced areas for nesting birds. However, no pets or dogs are allowed on the beach or in the dunes. Despite the beach park advertising a dog park, you still need to pay for parking to access it, which doesn't make much sense to me. Visited on a Sunday in July 2023. Paid by card.
